1960 After five years in South Central, Totten Tubes moves to East Los Angeles. A new 12,000 square-foot bay is built. The company acquires a bridge crane that covers the entire distance of the bay as well as a jib crane for unloading rail cars. The abrasive saw is brought with them, but they also purchase their first band saw. The crew now includes two warehousemen, one driver and three people working in the office. Square and rectangular structural tubing begins to gain popularity, with five to ten mills producing them worldwide. |
