Totten’s Azusa plant which hosts 37 shop personnel reported no accidents for the 1st quarter of 2009. Minor shop accidents can be frequent due to the 24 hour pace the shop keeps and the easy opportunities for ankle turns and slight cuts and bruises from handling metal.
To go 90 days without any accidents is extremely rare and will help the company enjoy lower insurance premiums if the trend continues. Monthly safety meetings have addressed crane rigging techniques and general tips on protection against injuries. This knowledge that’s passed on from our veterans to our younger employees is having a wonderful impact!
