Christmas Party Hosted Carolers & Reggae
Staff Writer: T.N.Totten

Issue 1

Totten held its 54th Christmas party at the Pasadena Hilton on Dec 20th. The evening kicked off with some Carolers from Disneyland that added a quaint almost Victorian style to the event. Dinner featured a lavish buffet of prime rib, chicken, and shrimp along with a host of fresh pasta, vegetables, and fruit.

Following the meal, the 3rd annual HERO awards were presented.
Jim Hawk received the H award for having the biggest heart for the company. Jim is always concerned about how the company is performing and its image in the marketplace. His genuine interest in the company’s well being made him a very deserving recipient of this award.

TonyDiaz won the E for excellence as he quietly leads the shop in precision cutting and safety tips. Totten’s packaging is top notch and Tony always prescribes to Ed Culp’s motto of ‘ship like you’d like to receive it’.

Art Mendizabel was given the R for being resilient. Art’s home suffered through two life threatening fires in Sylmar in the fall and winter forcing Art to evacuate his family on both occasions. He never let it worry him or get him down. Art continued to come into work and represent the company to the best of his ability. You never have to worry about Art being knocked down as he will always get up!

The final award was an O for optimism given to
Doug Johnson, Totten’s inland empire outside sales rep. Doug always sees the cup as not just half full but filled to the brim! His upbeat personality is always contagious and keeps his customers hopeful about the future.

After the awards, the dance floor opened up to some Reggae-Tone which is kind of a Latino Gangster Rap: an interesting style compared to the Victorian carolers that opened the evening. The music, food, and general good times made the Christmas party one of the very best. A big thanks to Totten’s own CFO
Linda Furse who made most of the arrangements.
